Open source Dokan SSHFS

January 18th, 2010 in Dokan, SSHFS

Today, I released Dokan SSHFS source codes under MIT license.
They contain DokanSSHFS (C# SSHFS program), DokanSSHFSControl (ShellExtension to context menu), DokanSSHProperty (ShellExtension to file property) and SharpSSH (open source ssh library for C#). When you compile these codes, you need the latest Dokan library and Dokan.NET library in the repository.

You can get source codes from the Dokan SVN repository.
http://code.google.com/p/dokan/source/browse/#svn/trunk/dokan_sshfs

I’m still working on new version of Dokan library, especially for x64 environment. Thank you for many patches and bug reports.

Please fix the high cpu usage (I get it while reading/saving file through Notepad). It’s really annoying and I must restart Dokan every time.

Cool. Please please please when you release a new version of dokan, make sure to create a tag in the SVN. It is almost for free in SVN and if you ever need to recreate that build, you have a baseline.

Any reason sshfs (windows XP version) to
a readhat 9.0 linux system a symbolic link
doesn’t work? Why can’t it just follow
the symlink? Any easy (non software) fix?

    Thanks for the great work!

Dokansshfs seems to hang when network is disconnected and I click ‘unmount’ on its menu. The process refuses to be killed (tried process explorer with no luck). I can’t unmount the driver with dokanctl either. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

The Dokan SSHFS is great! But I failed to copy a large amounts of files over the internet via Dokan. It crashed after a certain period when the copying process is going. A “parameter error” (translated) dialog shows up.

Hi, glad to read you are still working on this project. I couldn’t get dokan to fully mount my sshfs volume, I got an explorer error that the drive was busy.

Have you looked at FreeOFTE? She mounts encrypted files into the windows API pretty seamlessly, doesn’t even require an install.
